Episode 127: The crew’s continuing their Halloween retrospective series with Halloween II & Halloween III: Season of the Witch. The second installment’s a direct follow up to the first film and the last sequel Jamie Lee Curtis would star in until H20. The third film is a completely different story without any returning characters (including the villain, Michael Myers). Fans weren’t happy when it was first released, but Halloween III has found it’s audience on home video and TV. John Carpenter and his crew’s creative involvement stopped here in the franchise, but the Shape would be back to terrify audiences in 1988.

It’s expert camerawork and brilliant storytelling caught the eye of Hollywood studios, that not only made a remake, but put the director (Tomas Alfredson) and the cinematographer (Hoyte Van Hoytema) to work to in Tinseltown. The crew compares the novel and remake to the Swedish version, and asks “Is it the best vampire film ever made?”.
