The audience reaction at the time was super negative, and “Nuke the Refrigerator” has all but replaced “Jump the Shark” in pop culture. Despite the hate, the Crew is split on this film.

Due in large part, to the fact his dad tags along on this adventure. And the comedic chemistry between Harrison Ford and Sean Connery is amazing, some of the best jokes in the franchise.

Episode 162: Will the Crew fall to the black sleep of the Kali Ma as they discuss Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom? No, cause it’s a fun adventure film. No time for sleep Dr. Jones! The film did cause some controversy over the amount of violence and child slavery plot. And as a result, the PG-13 rating was created (Gremlins helped as well). Red Dawn was the first PG-13 film, released only two months after Temple of Doom.

Ep. 156 – An American Werewolf in London

Episode 156: The Crew’s sticking to the roads as they discuss the John Landis Werewolf film, An American Werewolf in London. The Werewolf transformation scene was so revolutionary the Academy created a Makeup category for Rick Baker’s work. Mr. Landis is known for his comedy films, and there’s lots of jokes in the film. But Landis is also considered a Master of Horror with only two horror films in his filmography (this and Innocent Blood). And that’s evidence of the lasting impact of this Werewolf classic.
